Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics
The explosion of information and research that has taken place in the recent years has had a profound effect upon a variety of existing academic disciplines giving rise to the dissolution of barriers between some, mergers between others, and the creation of entirely new fields of enquiry. The social sciences have not been immune to the effects of this transformation, but a great deal of relevant information that has been discovered in related fields of study that include inter alia sociology, psychology, history and anthropology, is yet to be fully incorporated into the central body of economic doctrines taught in colleges and universities. Economics, as a result, has immense scope to benefit from the exciting developments that have occurred in these related fields as also from those occurring in the physical sciences, philosophy, technology and mathematics.
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics is a forum in which those who wish to expand the boundaries of economic science are invited to contribute research that seeks out the hidden assumptions that determine the economist’s current world view, relax them and so evolve a new discipline more appropriate to the contemporary global environment, thereby enabling economists to tackle problems that have been created within that environment. The Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics is a peer reviewed bi-annual journal which publishes papers and comments from academicians and practitioners on topics that focus from an interdisciplinary perspective, on neglected boundary areas, hidden assumptions, and axioms in economics that may not be self-evident. Papers and comments are also welcome in response to the papers and comments.
